Start with the material
Material composition, maximum dimensions, bulk density and contamination determine the required cutting chamber and drive torque. Photos and sample pieces are more useful than a generic material name.
Define capacity realistically
Hourly capacity should be assessed together with feeding method, operating hours and allowable peaks. A stable line is usually more valuable than an optimistic maximum figure.
Confirm the final output
Double shaft shredders are commonly used for primary reduction. If a tight particle-size range is required, a screen or downstream machine may be necessary.
